Chips Melting Induction Technology, so called CMIT, is equipment for submerging of aluminium chips based on the technology of electromagnetic induction stirring. It is a solution for the customers who want to equip their existing furnaces with a technology for submerging of aluminium chips. The CMIT is a module that can be installed to almost any type of a chamber furnace. Simply cutting a hole in a wall of the existing furnace where the CMIT module will be installed.
The refractory lining design of the CMIT is specially shaped so that the metal flow, up to 10 t/min, creates suction forces in the molten bath where the aluminium chips are being charged. The charge is immediately submerged below the molten metal level thereby the oxidation is minimized. A chip going through the submerging jet and the following high stream of molten metal in the furnace chambers is remelted with hot molten bath, which must be heated up with furnace burners.
On top of that, the retrofitted furnace will get all the advantages of the electromagnetic induction stirring of molten metal like the possibility of charging alloying components, rapid alloying of silicon, temperature and chemical homogeneity of the entire bath, savings in gas consumption and lower losses of the charged material during the technological process.
Advantages of the CMIT:
Stinchcombe chip melting furnace is specially developed for melting of aluminium chips using the CMIT. The unique furnace design of 3 chambers is a guarantee of an efficient melting process with minimal metal losses. The furnace is equipped with an advanced system of postcombution of the exhaust gases created by burning of the emulsion residue on the chip surface.
The furnace has all the advantages of the electromagnetic induction stirring of molten metal like temperature and chemical homogeneity of the entire bath and savings in gas consumption.
